Business Consulting

Upon graduation in 2009, I had planned to associate with an existing practice. One month prior to graduation those plans abruptly changed. I realized quickly that school barely prepared me for either option. With better education from day 1 in school, I would have been positioned not only to negotiate and be comfortable with associateship but I would have also been prepared to open a practice or purchase an existing practice. I opened my cash-based pediatric & pregnancy Chiropractic practice in 2010 in my hometown. It required a lot of work, trial & error, sleepless nights, and more education. I want to help students & new graduates have a smoother transition into practice than I did by sharing with you the things that took me years to understand. I by no means have all of the answers, in fact, I am still uncovering new procedures and ideas to evolve and grow.

While completing post-graduate training in Pediatric & Pregnancy Chiropractic with the ICPA, I simultaneously began completing my MBA to understand better the nuances of owning & operating a private practice. The amount of information I obtained from the MBA program was priceless. I do not believe that Chiropractic students should expend $100K for a professional degree and not be offered an adequate amount of business education to get their career off the ground successfully. Since 2010, I receive emails every graduating trimester from students asking for advice on various aspects of practice. During the COVID-19 shutdowns, many new graduates closed their doors permanently opting to go into new fields of study that didn’t require business management. I decided to begin offering some aspects of business education to current Chiropractic students and new graduates to provide them with the information needed to decide on a career path, set up a new practice, write a business plan, and do market research and planning.

We will be offering in-person business courses for Chiropractic students (prospective & current) and new graduates. Please join our mailing list for notification of class offerings soon!

Business Plan Development

A business plan is not only used for pitching banks and venture capitalist funding. A BP will also be useful in keeping you on a scale with growth & your goals. Businesses with a decent BP in place tend to see 30% more growth (according to current research) than those without a plan. BP’s can be revisited and goals can be reshaped and adjusted to stay on projection. We can offer assistance in writing your plan, reviewing your current completed plan, or fully developing a plan for you, including market research and analysis.

Existing Business Plan Review-$250-1000

  • Basic review of your current written plan with suggestions for updates/changes- $250

  • Comprehensive review of your current plan with a fully revised copy (moderate changes, not a full re-write of your plan)- (2-hour) $500- (4-hour) $1000

  • If an entire rewrite is required, full plan development will be necessary.

  • Exisiting plan reviews will not include doing any research. Your plan should be fully developed and researched prior to the review request.

Full Business Plan development-$1500-3000

  • 6-8 week turnaround - $1500-2000

  • 4-week turnaround - $2500-3000

Practice Consulting

Starting a practice can be a tedious, tiring process. It can be encouraging and empowering to have someone who has experienced the trials and tribulations of establishing and maintaining a practice, whether that be a colleague, friend, mentor, or hiring a practice consultant.

Consulting involves drafting strategic plans for your practice, optimizing your marketing strategy using market analysis, social media & email marketing advice & calendars for posting, & copy guidance.

Consulting is also available to examine your business structure & organization, EHR options, and equipment purchases, and assess your current goals and progress to keep you on track for the future of your practice.

Practice Consulting- $175/hour

  • Initial consultation (30-minute meet & greet) is at no cost! This will determine if we are a good fit for more in-depth consulting. I ask questions about you and your practice and leave space for you to ask questions as well.

  • Day rates are on an as-needed basis and will include travel costs if I am requested to do an in-person practice visit.

Website development/review-$150/hr

  • We can fully code and design your custom website, including designing copy and SEO optimization.

  • 1hr initial phone call or in-person meeting to answer questions about your business and website ideas.

  • Turnaround is 2-3 weeks with periodic check-ins to fine-tune.

  • Once finished all the file folders used will convey, with full access to the website for you to update as you wish in the future.

Business Courses

I got an MBA so you don’t have to! (You totally can if it makes you happy). I created a few courses for Chiropractic students, both prospective & current, to help answer the questions about practice that were either never delivered in Chiropractic education, or were glossed over and incomprehensible.

From associateships to private practice, we cover the topics students have been requesting or inquiring about via email to me for 10 years. How do I know if my contract is okay? What type of business incorporation should I consider? What EHR is best? What malpractice company should I consider? How do I take payment? What equipment do I need? Do I need a business plan? How much money do I need to start up? Am I choosing a good area to practice? Should I join professional organizations? Are there any dos and don’ts I am unaware of?

We also do not guarantee the content of our courses will equate to success and stellar outcomes. Those things have more aspects than just business knowledge (like skill, quality of care, being likable, the things I can’t teach you). By committing to consulting, courses, or business plan development, you are doing so with the knowledge that we are not responsible for any negative outcomes or outcomes not in line with your set goals. We are not making promises or guarantees for success or monetary gain due to the use of our services.
